"Whiskey Ed" Houdek
first opened the doors to Ye Olde Spirit Shoppe in 1965. Back
then he'd deliver mail for the Bayport Post Office during the
day
and
at night
he'd work selling fine liquors and wine. In 1972 Ed doubled
the size of the store making it so long and narrow that you
could fit four lanes of bowling within the store's walls. But
instead of balls and pins, we have the area's largest selection
of fine wines and liquors. |

Ed Houdek runs the store with his son Mike. The younger Houdek
is certified as a wine sommelier and has an outstanding palate.
If you need to know the best wine for your meal, just ask him.
If you need to know about single malts, top shelf vodkas, or
the best Cognacs, he's your man. |

try its hardest to answer your "spiritual" questions.
So come on down to Houdek's Spirit Shoppe in Bayport, Long
Island. We're right next to the Bayport Post Office, diagonally
across from LeSoir Restaurant. And remember, don't drink the
